YouTube announced an update to the terms of service for its platform. Now, the service will display ads on channels that are not in the YouTube Partner Program.
The surprising thing about this news is that the company will profit from these ads, but it will not provide dollars to the owners of these channels where the ads are published. In this regard, YouTube indicated that:
"... As a creator not in the YouTube Partner Program, you may see ads in some of your videos. Since you are not currently a member of the YouTube Partner Program, you will not receive a portion of the earnings from these ads."
Likewise, YouTube said this update will begin rolling out in the United States. What about creative people who live outside the United States? So far, the company has indicated that it will provide the information next year, as it was published on its blog.
