Most likely, as of today, you haven't heard anything about You.com yet. However, the goal of its creators is to become a direct competitor to Google. Hugely complex goal, given the sheer market dominance Google has enjoyed for many years. And we've got to the point where we're talking about that if something we've searched for doesn't appear among the Google results, it almost feels like it's not on the Internet.
Google, its search engine and its dominant position in the search engine market is the fruit of a lot of work over the years to transform an algorithm (in its original version) into an empire. However, one of those peopleWho wants to stop Google's dominance is Richard Socher, former Salesforce chief scientist. Outside his job at Salesforce, he started working on You.com, a search engine he knows to be trustworthy.
And while his intention is to create a general purpose search engine, in the first place, You.com will focus on assisting users with complex purchases, as we usually look for a lot of information from various sources to help us make the decision, whether or not to buy a specific product. Or, to choose between several possibilities.Obviously, one of the main challenges that the new search engine will face is gaining users' trust. At the moment, You.com is not yet launched, although it is possible to register on the waitlist to be one of the first to try it at the following link: you.com
