Game dictatorship and court Top best TV series of winter

Not every winter brings a lot of good TV shows. This time it may turn out differently: there are enough potentially interesting projects. Lots of comics, a Downton Abbey costume, one unexpected nostalgic comeback, and a couple of long-awaited sequels. Here are ten of the most interesting TV series that will be shown this winter.

Earth at Night in Color (Dec. 4, Apple TV +)

Definitely the most relaxing project this winter. A documentary series about animals, already released on the Apple streaming platform. This is usually shown on Animal Planet or National Geographic, but not this time: Apple is trying to stake out its place with its 4K and technical achievements.

The essence of the project is in its name. With the help of innovative shooting and processing technology, the nightlife of animals will be shown to us in color and color. It will be visible almost like during the day but under the stars. The authors of Earth have visited six continents and filmed dozens of animals - from elephants and polar bears to kangaroos and frogs.

Your Honor (Dec. 7, Showtime)

A young man named Adam knocks down a man in his car and hides from the accident scene. His father, a respected judge in New Orleans, is called to help the criminal. Dad puts his career on the line trying to get his son out of prison. However, the public is not ready to turn a blind eye to blatant interference in the law enforcement and judicial systems.

In the opinion of the Belarusians, this is a funny story about just one judge who stumbled. As for Your Honor, Western critics have already watched several episodes of the series. So far, the average score is only 55. They say the plot is stupid. It seems that these guys did not bother to study the news bulletins from Belarus for at least a day.

Inside Lapenko, 3rd season (from December 7, YouTube)

We made an exception for two TV series: these are not novelties, but new seasons of already well-known projects. Inside Lapenko appeared a year ago - and immediately became something like the Russian Monty Python. Filmed in a nostalgic-soviet manner, short sketches, one actor in a dozen caricatured images and the slight madness of improvisation fell in love with millions of viewers.

Therefore, the third season of the multi-part feature film Inside Lapenko will be an excellent gift for everyone who knows what kind of product it is. In addition to the usual characters, new images await us. This is, for example, a beloved engineer, as well as a young laboratory assistant. Both, of course, have a mustache.

Confrontation (Dec. 18, CBS)

The superflu pandemic is wiping out almost all of the world's population. A few groups of survivors are trying to rebuild society. As a result, one camp of people wants to return everything as it was, while the other units around the "black man", a madman who builds a fascist dictatorship and encourages worship of himself as a messiah. He surrounds himself with the same crazy supporters who are looking for spies and persecuting those who disagree with the leader's renegades.

The most surprising thing about this series is that it's not based on 2020. The project was based on the eponymous (huge!) A novel by Stephen King, which came out almost half a century ago. They have been working on the project for several years, so all coincidences are accidental. The cast will include stars such as Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgard, and Amber Heard.

The Bridgertons (Dec. 25, Netflix)

For Downton Abbey fans only! It seems that it is on the laurels of this legend that Netflix is infringing. A battalion of British actors is called upon to make dreams come true, and a series of historical romance novels by Julia Queen is used as the basis.

The series takes place in the early 19th century in England. The focus is on the wealthy Bridgerton family. There are not only many characters here, but even more skeletons in the closet, languid secrets, and forbidden relationships. Uncover your handkerchiefs.

Sentinels (from January 3, BBC)

Ankh-Morpork is another city in which the guards beat the law long ago. Werewolves, vampires, trolls, gnomes, and other nice guys gather here. They all fight for existence and create games. One day, a newcomer appears among the guards who want to return justice to the city.

The Guardians series is based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld. True, in comparison with the original, there are more modern surroundings here. But the authors of the project promise no less humor than in the writer's novels. Critics believe in the success of Guard.

Wanda / Vision (from January 15, Disney +)

The series takes place after the finale of the fourth "Avengers". The witch Wanda and the android Vision with divine powers live as if nothing had happened in the town of Westview. They seem to have the usual happy lives of ordinary Americans. Of course, all this is an illusion, and movement will soon begin.

Wanda / Vision is filmed in the style of mid-century sitcoms. The first episode was even filmed in front of a live audience, as was common on American television in the 1950s. On the whole, the style of the project is trying to match the golden age of television as much as possible. Definitely one of the most anticipated and unusual series of winter.

American Gods Season 3 (Effective January 11, Amazon Prime)

The first season of American Gods was a big hit in 2017. It received tons of rave reviews and high ratings. The second season turned out to be noticeably weaker. And now the third is ready to regain the glory acquired several years ago.

The plot of the third season of American Gods will be devoted to that part of the book by Neil Gaiman, in which the Shadow settles in the remote town of Lakeside. The caste has improved noticeably: here you and Danny Trejo in the role of Mr. World, and Marilyn Manson, and Ramsay Bolton in a suitable image of a leprechaun. The trailer looks pretty and promising. It is possible that new life has been breathed into American Gods.

Walker (from Jan 21, CW)

If you don't know Cool Walker, you didn't live in the 1990s. The show that cemented Chuck Norris' memetics may not have been very good, but it will be remembered by many. And now the project comes back. By the way, the restart didn't go without Chuck! True, not in the lead role anymore. The series is unlikely to turn out to be fiery, but for the sake of nostalgia, at least the first episode is worth looking at with one eye.

Walker is played by Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. After working undercover for several years, the police officer returns to Texas. But even here he does not have a quiet life. In each episode, more and more criminals appear, to whom harsh Texas-style justice has to be applied.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Winter, Disney +)

The long-suffering Disney project, which was supposed to be released this summer. Due to the pandemic, plans had to be revised, and filming had to be canceled. Work on the project resumed in the fall. The date of the premiere has not yet been announced, but there is a high probability that the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be shown closer to March.

They try to keep the plot secret, but it is clear that the focus will be on two superheroes. The Falcon will try to save the world with Captain America's shield, and the Winter Soldier wants to move away from superhero affairs and adapt to everyday life in the modern world. Both one and the other will have difficulty completing these two tasks.
