Streaming service HBO Max has announced a major partnership with Warner Bros. Seventeen films, slated for release next year, will be made available to service subscribers on the day of their theatrical premiere. Among these tapes are the upcoming blockbusters "Matrix 4" and "Dune".
Also on HBO Max will immediately appear the musical "Dream High", the prequel to the crime series "The Sopranos" called "The Many Saints of Newark" and the superhero action film "Suicide Squad: Mission Bash" with Margot Robbie. Plus Tom and Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, the technical thriller Remembrance starring Hugh Jackman, and the King Richard drama starring Will Smith, where he plays the father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams.
Granted, on HBO Max, those movies won't be available until 31 days after the world premiere. Then they disappear from the service, and rental in theaters will continue. It is not clear whether the tapes will return to HBO Max in the future.
